Our solar electrification upgrade
We have added a 12-volt DC electrical system to our cold frame. It will is powered by an 80-Watt Sharp photovoltaic panel. We are using it to power a water pump for irrigation, and other instruments and hardware.
We also built a companion system on a wooden cart for classroom use here in San Anselmo. We sure were on a steep learning curve! None of us knew that much about wiring before this project. We intalled the system in the White Mountains in June of 2010.
